Someone please help me!! I am still having the same problems that will not go away and are just getting worse. Almost every time I try to backup I am left in limbo most of the time with the Vista circle going around and around. I did a restore from backup (an earlier one) which seemed to work until I went in and added some information and then tried to backup the file...big mistake I haven't been able to backup sucessfully ever since.
I have noticed one very peculiar thing though, in the file location when it does perform a backup the file size has jumped considerably. On August 20 the file size was 157,402 KB, on August 21 it was 1,262,174 KB, on 3 attempts of backups on August 24 the file sizes were 157,602 KB, then 325,993 KB and then 2,040,795 KB, and then on August 25 it was 935,174 KB. On top of these crazy file sizes in the error log it shows the following information, I don't know if it has anything to do with my problems but I thought it wouldn't hurt to put it in here just in case.
080826 16:10:54 InnoDB: Starting shutdown...
080826 16:10:58 InnoDB: Shutdown completed; log sequence number 0 94189906
